I will try to limit my whining on this blog but I could not help but share this.
Ted has asked for grapes to eat. ICU called the kitchen to ask for grapes to be sent with his lunch meal.
They said no.
Because today the fruit is orange or apple not grape.
So I had a little tantrum.
Anyway the cafeteria that seems to specialise in chicken nuggets and other revolting fare actually has grapes in their fruit salad boxes.
I asked if they could perhaps sell me just some grapes. They said no.
So here is what a $6.00 grape looks like. I had to buy the fruit salad for the solitary grape.
Oh FFS! I don’t blame you for chucking a tanty. Limited fresh fruit in a children’s hospital (shaking head in disgust).

That is disgusting! I say rant away as I’m appalled that an ill child asks for available fruit and is refused. You are not whining, you’re informing and reminding us of the pathetic state of public health, and in a children’s hospital at that! 👿

You go mama-bear and get Teddy what he wants and needs! On the bright side, he wants to eat so that’s good! But seriously disgusting that they couldn’t just pull some grapes together for you…ugh. Wish we were nearby to get dear Ted a whole bucketful of grapes or any other fruit he wants,

I cannot believe that you, of all people, could have a tantrum. I wouldn’t have thought you had it in you. 😷

DItto Amy. FFS indeed!! You would think that they would realise what children need in ICU to eat. Shame there is not a Harris Farm attached to the hospital. Maybe we could open up a healthy cafe there…… Great to see him eating – if only a grape. And super pleased that he’s extubated and some wires and lines out. How many more hours till we are definitely out the woods Carolyn? I hope you are resting when he is sleeping. XXxx

Craziness.
You would assume a children’s hospital would have a range of fruit on offer.
Glad superTeddy is up to eating something. What a champion he is.
BTW his lips look almost as red as that grape 🙂

I cannot believe the additional stress your hospital system puts on families. They act as if you need to be punished (as if watching / enduring OHS for your toddler isn’t punishment enough) for something. Praying for a speedy recovery so you can get out of that hell hole. Xx
