I am Carolyn, a wife and mother to three lovely children. We live in Sydney, Australia. I was a criminal lawyer before having children but that seems like someone else’s story. My path is now very different. Our middle child known as Teddy was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He is now 4 years old and faces the final stage of his ‘surgical palliation’ an open heart operation known as the Fontan Completion. I created this page so that friends and family could be kept up to date with his surgery and progress. Perhaps in some way my sharing of Ted’s journey will help another family. So begins our story of Teddy’s final stage surgery from a mother’s perspective.
